Jumpstart works quickly to get you your Employee Identification Number (EIN) as soon as possible.
The time it takes to receive your EIN number depends on whether or not you are a U.S. citizen or not. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) who assign EIN numbers have a faster process for U.S. citizens since we are able to file them online. For non-US citizens we have to fax your documentation to the IRS and wait for the paperwork to come back.
Customers who are U.S. citizens (with social security numbers SSN) - it usually takes 24 business hours after you have uploaded all necessary documents to Jumpstart.
Customers who are non-US citizens (without a social security number) - It typically takes 14 business days after you have uploaded all necessary documents to Jumpstart
Please note that sometimes the IRS loses applications that are done on paper. In these situations it can take up to 30 business days to get your EIN number.
